Your feet take a hit when you play sports! It's important to dress correctly and make good choices before, during and after you exercise. Here are some great tips!
- Good quality shoes that are appropriate for the activity
- Supportive shoes; good cushioning and insoles are something to consider too. Your foot arch and heel requires constant support
- Comfortable socks, ideally with some supportive compression and/ or antimicrobial qualities.
- Warm up and stretching. Many skip this as they 'don't have time' but this is one of the more important parts of your workout. Do appropriate stretches depending on the activity (for example calf stretches for running or Tennis Ball rolls for soccer or tennis). The Calf Muscles, Achilles Tendons and Plantar Fascia are three main areas that are prone to tightness (and therefore injury, as a result).
- Think about your terrain. Use a workout mat for cushioning or run on grass, as opposed to pavement. All these small changes can lessen the impact on the body.
- Massage can help relieve tension and stiffness after a workout. Foam rollers can also help with targeted release of tension. on the calves especially.
Whether you enjoy skiing during winter months, or soccer during the summer... enjoying your favorite sports, can put you at risk for increased wear & tear or injury.
The T-Shellz Blood Circulation Boost can provide support, especially if you have sustained any injury. As always, don't forget to contact your health provider if you suspect you have an injury (a big fall on the ski hill or nasty collision during a soccer game) or you are experiencing pain. |
