Hallux Valgus/ Bunion

What is a Hallux Valgus/ Bunion?
Bunions are another extremely common occurrence affecting feet all over the world. A bunion is a large bump on the outside of the big toe joint. The deformity is a result of a shift in the bone's framework, where pressure will gradually shift the big toe to lean inward or outward instead of straight ahead, causing the protrusion. Bunions are typically caused by genetics, with individuals inheriting flat feet, low arches, or other conditions that cause the bones to alter their alignment over time.
So i have a bunion... what's next?
Physical therapy, orthotic devices, OTC bunion pads, and more can be used to manage pain and help slow the misalignment of the bones. However, injections and surgery may be your last resort to completely reposition the foot structure.
